Jay Payne’s experience includes the representation of individuals in connection with tax and estate planning matters,  health care providers, including hospitals, physicians and physician groups, regarding general corporate and employment matters, peer review, regulatory compliance, including compliance with the Stark Legislation, the Anti-kickback Statute, the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act ("EMTALA") and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 ("HIPAA"); closely-held businesses and nonprofit organizations, including formation, mergers and acquisitions, tax exemption and compliance, and general representation; and litigation support in the areas of commercial and hospital litigation and professional liability and insurance defense.
